Financial assistance available

Wage subsidy for internships :

• A maximum amount corresponding to 100% of salary and benefits.
• Up to $30,000 is available for wage subsidies for interns’ salaries. The $30,000 includes wages, benefits, training, other direct costs and administrative costs.

Eligibility

Trainee eligibility criteria

• Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the course;
• Completion of post-secondary education;
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada;
• Not receive Employment Insurance (EI) benefits during the internship;
• Self-rated as underemployed, meaning they are employed below their level of education or hold part-time jobs.
