Description

In this course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of SharePoint, starting with a general introduction that distinguishes between team sites and communication sites. You’ll explore the homepage and the setup wheel, essential for navigating and configuring your SharePoint environment. You’ll delve into site management, including the architecture of site collections and hubs, and learn how to use site collection administration tools effectively.

You’ll be introduced to site content, with an overview of predefined applications, and learn how to create and manage subsites. A key part of the course is understanding SharePoint’s security groups—readers, members, and facilitators—and how to change site settings to tailor your SharePoint site to your needs. Setting up navigation and targeting audiences effectively will also be covered.

The course will guide you through creating and managing document libraries, including adding document templates and using the “Library setting” tool. You’ll learn how to add libraries to navigation menus and create library templates to streamline your workflows.

In the second part of the course, you will focus on creating and managing metadata, a crucial aspect for organizing and retrieving information efficiently. You’ll learn to define, create, and manage metadata, and how to create custom views to display information in ways that best suit your needs. The course will cover how to constrain extraction and set up lists, whether custom or from templates.

Security management is another critical area covered, where you’ll understand native groups in SharePoint, and learn to add, remove, and manage users and user groups. The concept of permission inheritance will be explained, helping you manage access and permissions effectively across your SharePoint site.
